What is Campus Connect?

Campus Connect is a student-focused app designed to enhance campus life by helping students discover, share, and connect in meaningful ways.

From personalized feeds and stories to anonymous confessions and habit-based matchmaking, the app creates a safe, engaging, and interactive space for students to express themselves, build friendships, and form genuine connections.

By blending social interaction with compatibility-driven features, Campus Connect reimagines the campus experience, making it more connected, vibrant, and student-centered.

Problem Statement

Students lack a dedicated digital hub that combines campus networking, confessions, and safe dating opportunities.

Existing platforms are either too broad or not tailored to college life, leaving students without a trusted space to connect, share, and build meaningful relationships within their campus community.

Solution

An app designed to give students a trusted platform to share openly, connect with peers, and explore dating, while keeping every interaction campus-verified and relevant.

• Personalized Feed with For You, Following, Confession tabs.

• Stories for quick campus updates.

• Verified Student Profiles with college

• Dating Module for safe, campus-only connections.

Process/Approach

Research

The client conducted student surveys and informal focus group discussions across multiple campuses to better understand the digital behavior of students. The goal was to identify their daily engagement patterns, struggles with existing platforms, and expectations from a campus-focused app.

Key Findings

The client had a clear vision from the start and shared their expectations in detail during our initial meetings. This provided me with a strong foundation to begin the design process.

I carefully noted down all the features and objectives the client wanted, ensuring I understood the scope and priorities. I translated the requirements into simple App Architecture to visualize the layout and user flow.

Wireframing

I began with low-fidelity wireframes to outline the core flows for feeds, confessions, dating, chat and search, This step helped me define navigation, prioritize content, and structure user interactions clearly. The wireframes acted as a blueprint for moving smoothly into mid-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes.

High-Fidelity Design

After the wireframes, I created high-fidelity designs with a clean, modern UI. The focus was on delivering a student-friendly look and feel using familiar patterns like stories and feeds, along with unique elements such as campus verification, anonymous confessions, and safe dating flows.

What Did I Learn?

Working on Campus Connect taught me the importance of balancing anonymity with trust in social platforms.

I learned how critical it is to design for safety, verification, and simplicity, especially when combining diverse features like feeds, confessions, dating, and chat into a single ecosystem.

This project also strengthened my skills in structuring information architecture, designing intuitive flows, and creating a consistent visual language tailored to student users.
